In 4 sentences or less, describe your job and what you might do on a “typical” day – understanding that a typical day might be different every day.
As we always say, there is no such thing as a typical day. Our HR team is in the people business. We ensure we have the right people in the right seats on the bus at the right time in order to maximize business results. We provide coaching and consultation, ensure compliance, act as a resource for employee questions related to…. pretty much anything, and try to create a fun work environment with a culture of accountability.
How would you describe the company culture of Storey Kenworthy?
I would describe our culture as collaborative, family-oriented, entrepreneurial, and fun!
Which of the 7 Core Values is your favorite? The one that inspires you most? Why?
Continuous Improvement because there are always ways we can be better. It can be big or small things, as long as we’re making progress and can ultimately drive change.
What drew you to come work for Storey Kenworthy?
There are a variety of things, but mostly the impact I can have at a smaller, family-owned company. I was also driven to the people and the culture. I worked for a larger company prior to coming here and I felt like I had my responsibilities and stayed in my lane. There are opportunities for projects, a variety of different committees, and work outside of my ‘day-to-day’ exists here, and I get excited about that. The people here are real and genuine. Everyone wants what’s best for the company. It’s a fun work environment, not a ‘ stuffy corporate’ environment.
What would say is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is the way I can be strategic and supportive of the entire business. I can have my hands in just about everything vs being siloed in the work I do.
Outside of work, what do you do to stay fulfilled, busy, balanced and focused on your personal growth?
I go to the gym, hang out with my husband and my dog, and go to Chicago Cubs games. I like to be outside as much as possible. I’m extremely extroverted so I like to hang out with people!
What would you tell somebody that is thinking about coming to work for Storey Kenworthy?
DO IT! If you’re looking to make a difference and have an impact, this is the place to do it. Everyone is very welcoming, people listen to feedback and welcome new ideas.
